A hearty Hawaiian meal consisting of a beef patty on top of white rice, with an egg and brown gravy.

WHAT'S INSIDE:


1 LB Ground Beef
1 TBSP Panko Flakes
3 Cloves of Garlic


4 TBSP Shoyu (Low Sodium)


1/3 Onion Diced

Green Onion
1 Egg per plate.

1 TBSP Beef Bullion/ 1 Cup Beef Stock
SPICES/OTHER:
2 TSP Black Pepper
1 TBSP Flour
1 TBSP Butter
1 TBSP Paprika
Salt to Taste
HOW TO MAKE IT:
1. Start by chopping 3 cloves of garlic, 1/3 of a white onion, and the whites of green onion. In a pan with a tsp of oil, brown the veggies and let cool.
2. While the veggies cook, combine 1 lb of ground beef, 2 tbsp shoyu, 1 tbsp panko flakes, 1 tbsp paprika, 1 tsp black pepper and salt to taste. Now combine the cooked veggies and mix until even.


3. Form palm size balls of the ground beef mixture. To a hot pan with 1 tsp of oil, place the ground beef ball and flatten with the back of a spatula. Cook until it is no longer stuck to the pan or until it forms a nice crust (3-5 minutes) flip and repeat then set aside.
4. To the same pan, add in 1 tbsp of butter. Once that melts add black pepper and a little salt as well as 1 tbsp of all purpose flour. This is to make a roux which is equal parts flour and butter. Next add in 2 tbsp of shoyu.
5. Stir that clumpy mixture letting it brown. Then add in 1 cup of beef stock. I used a tbsp of beef bullion melted in hot water for the stock. Optionally you can use package gravy for a more cost effective and time efficient meal. Let that thick, adding in more water if too thick then turn down the heat.
6. Fry up a sunny side well-seasoned egg. Top white rice with the beef patty, then the egg and pour over that hot gravy. Top with green onion and enjoy this delicious hawaiian meal.
